How Split Sheet Studio collects, uses, stores, and shares information.
Last updated: September 13, 2026
These pages are operating templates for Split Sheet Studio. They are written to be conservative and clear, but they are not legal advice.
Before public launch, have a qualified attorney review these terms for your business entity, state, payment flow, and customer base.

Information we collect
We collect account information such as name, email address, password hash, verification status, plan level, and authentication session data.
We collect split-sheet workflow information that users submit, including song metadata, contributor names, roles, emails, addresses, phone numbers, PRO details, IPI numbers, publisher details, ownership percentages, typed signatures, drawn signatures, recipient selections, notes, timestamps, and audit events.
We maintain a contact record when someone creates an account, is named as a contributor, signs a split sheet, or voluntarily joins an email list. The record may include email, display name, source, consent status, consent timestamp, IP-related request data, user agent, and unsubscribe status.
We collect technical information such as IP-related request data, user agent, rate-limit events, server logs, plugin version checks, download events, and error data.
How we use information
We use information to provide the hosted app, plugin API, account access, signature links, final PDFs, email delivery, support, fraud prevention, rate limiting, security, debugging, updates, and service improvement.
We may use aggregated or de-identified operational data to understand reliability, feature usage, and product performance.
We send educational or promotional email only after an explicit optional opt-in. Being added as a contributor, receiving a signature request, signing a split sheet, or creating an account does not by itself require marketing consent.
Payment information
When payments are enabled, payment information is processed by Stripe. We do not intentionally store full card numbers on our servers.
We may store Stripe customer IDs, subscription IDs, checkout session IDs, payment status, purchase records, download tokens, and plan status so that purchases and subscription limits work correctly.
How we share information
We share information as needed with service providers that run the product, including hosting, database, storage, email, payment, logging, security, and support providers.
We may share split-sheet packets and signature links with recipients selected by the user. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, security investigation, fraud prevention, or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell personal information as a data broker.
Security
We use practical safeguards such as hashed passwords, session controls, rate limiting, TLS in production, protected storage, access controls, and operational monitoring.
No online system can be guaranteed perfectly secure. You are responsible for protecting your credentials, devices, inboxes, DAW workstation, and shared links.
Retention
We retain account records, split-sheet records, generated PDFs, audit events, purchase records, and operational logs for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, support users, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
You may request deletion or export, but some records may be retained where needed for security, audit integrity, payment records, legal obligations, or legitimate business purposes.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the service if you are under 13. If you believe a child submitted information, contact us.
Your choices
You can update account information, control recipient selections, avoid optional fields, request support, and choose whether to submit split-sheet information.
Marketing choices are optional. Each marketing contact has an unsubscribe preference, and unsubscribing does not prevent transactional messages related to accounts, split-sheet invitations, signatures, purchases, security, or completed records.
A later transactional event does not automatically resubscribe an unsubscribed contact. A new explicit opt-in is required.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, law, infrastructure, or business changes. The updated date will show when the page was last changed.
